The outdoor table base stabilizes your table tops and gives structure to your restaurant terrace. You install a solid base that resists weather, UV and humidity. So you can hold each table in place, even on paved, tiled or slightly uneven ground. Adjustable glides correct differences in level and prevent movement during intensive service.

Our range combines the essential CHR materials: heavy cast iron for stable anchoring on wind-exposed terraces, light aluminum for rapid handling at the start or end of service, and steel to reinforce the rigidity of an assembly subjected to external stresses. How to choose an outdoor table base for a terrace?

If you're one of those professionals who prefers to buy table legs and table tops separately, rather than investing in ready-to-use tables, you may find what you're looking for in this article. In fact, we're going to talk about the selection criteria for table legs, so that you can create solid, designer tables yourself. The furniture in question is outdoor furniture that you can install on your restaurant terrace, in the garden or on the balcony, and which can help you attract and retain customers and also set you apart from the competition.

First and foremost, it's worth noting that there are different types of table legs. The most classic are the fixed table legs, which are suitable for all types of tables and are generally fixed 4 to a table top. This is the case, for example, with the Bologna black cast-iron-aluminium base offered on the Richard Diffusion site, or the Scandinavia brown aluminium terrace base. Then there are the central table tops, which attach to the center of the table tops. These often go solo, as each is designed to support the full weight of the tabletop and ensure its stability. To give just a few examples, there's the Oregon black aluminum 4-branch round center column base, the Oslo matte aluminum round center column base with square base, the Leaf gray aluminum 3-branch round center column base and the Lima black aluminum 4-branch round center column base. The other type of table leg to consider is the adjustable or adjustable table leg, which adjusts in height and is mainly used for bar tables. Firstly, the manufacturing material must be solid, resistant and aesthetically pleasing. Secondly, the height must be between 70 and 72 cm to match your outdoor high table. Then there's the number of legs, which depends on the size of your tabletop and the space available. And finally, the shape and color of the tabletop should be selected according to the finish of the tabletop and the particularities of your outdoor décor.

Un piétement encastrable permet d'empiler les tables les unes contre les autres, branches repliées, pour libérer la terrasse en dehors des heures de service. La fonction basculant incline le plateau à la verticale, ce qui protège la surface en cas de pluie et réduit l'emprise au sol lors du stockage nocturne. En pratique, un restaurant qui ferme sa terrasse chaque soir gagne 10 à 15 minutes de manutention par service avec ce système. Plusieurs modèles de la gamme Richard Diffusion combinent les deux fonctions, comme le Bangor (4 branches aluminium, 69,72 euros HT) ou le Brunet (4 branches aluminium design avec vérins réglables, 139 euros HT, fabrication européenne).

La règle de base : l'emprise au sol du piétement doit couvrir au moins 60 % de la surface du plateau pour garantir la stabilité. Pour un plateau carré de 60x60 cm, un piétement 3 branches type Lima 3 (58x49 cm) ou Triqueville 3 (52x45 cm) suffit. A partir de 70x70 cm, un piétement 4 branches offre un meilleur equilibre, surtout si le plateau est en matériau lourd comme le compact HPL ou le teck massif. Pour les grands formats rectangulaires (110 cm et plus), un piétement double colonne comme le Turis Double (78x60 cm, 9,2 kg) répartit la charge sur toute la longueur. Oui. Richard Diffusion propose plusieurs piétements hauts (108 cm) conçus pour un usage extérieur. Le Lima mange debout (4 branches aluminium, 69x66 cm, 4,7 kg, 65 euros HT) associe légèreté et fonction encastrable/basculant. L'Oregon M-D (53x53 cm, 3,8 kg, 59 euros HT) est fabriqué en Europe et pèse moins de 4 kg, ce qui facilite les déplacements fréquents. Ces piétements acceptent les mêmes plateaux que les versions hauteur standard, à condition de respecter les dimensions maximales recommandées pour chaque base.

Les piétements en aluminium et en fonte aluminium de la gamme Richard Diffusion reçoivent un traitement epoxy ou un laquage sable (Sand finish) qui protège contre les UV, la pluie et le sel marin. Ils restent dehors toute l'année sans rouille. Les piétements en fonte acier sont traités en peinture sable (Sand Black, RAL 7021) pour limiter l'oxydation, mais un contrôle visuel en début de saison reste recommandé dans les zones côtières ou fortement exposées. Dans tous les cas, un nettoyage ponctuel à l'eau savonneuse suffit à conserver l'aspect d'origine. Aucun produit d'entretien spécifique n'est requis.
